Which comedy team did you like most from these 3?
Abbott and Costello
Laurel and Hardy
The Marx Brothers
I can’t really pick a favorite. Each one had funny skits and movies. What about you?
I enjoyed these teams in the same order where you listed them. I
grew up more with Abbott and Costello, and didn’t see the Laurel
and Hardy films until I was grown. I used to see the movies of A&C
with my parents while growing up, before we got television. And then
we began watching a weekly show with both of them. The weekly
show wasn’t as good or well thought out, as their movies. I did feel
sorry for Costello tho. He was always getting the worst of things. And
he’d be calling, "Aaaabbbbuuuuuutttt" at the top of his lungs when
he got scared or was in trouble. That always made the theatre audience laugh every time. I know he was the brains behind the duo since Bud Abbott gave Lou Costello all of the kudos’ for making their act work. But I did get tired of Lou saying in a little voice, "I’m jus ta widdle boy". To get attention from some of the ladies. And of course, he was just a short, chubby man. But the two made us laugh and we
laughed at the theatre til we almost rolled in the aisles.
Laurel and Hardy had their own gimmick. And it was clear who was
the one who got dumped on, and who got them into trouble. I found
msyelf laughing over the trouble that always happened to them. And
the messes literally too.
The Marx Brothers, were my least favorite. I saw them in alot of the
older movies. And sometimes, I thought they were just stupid. Then
when I married, my husband told me he had been a friend of Harpos’
son, and that Harpo could talk just as well as the rest of them. His
silence was just his gimmick in the troupe. And in fact, he was an old
disgruntled man when my husband met him and saw him countless
times. And he did not like kids. Even teen agers, shuffling under foot.
He wanted them out of the house, to play ball somewhere else. He
was not a happy man, as he had portrayed in the movies. I always
wondered if Groucho was also a grouch, like his brother.

I lean toward Abbott and Costello of the three. "Who’s on first?" will always be a classic. I absolutely loved Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis too and was sorry when they broke up.

I’m like you - I like all three - I remember when I went to the Midnight movie and watched "Bud Abbot and Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein"
I think I was either still in grade school or in junior high.
I was so scared - I covered my eyes through most of the movie.
Oh my, what great memories and during a great era to live in.
Thanks for the memories.

They all have their merits and "classic" scenes that will last forever. However I would always prefer Stan & Ollie. They appeal to both young and old, worked in both silent and sound movies, but the most important aspect is the fact ALL their films have stood the test of time. Even their earliest films still remain popular and the humor has not become tainted in time. Long may they remain the number one funniest duo ever!

By FAR, Abbott and Costello. To this day, I refer to their "Who’s on First" routine… when I don’t know the answer to a question, I simply say, "THIRD BASE!"
Have a Seasoned day.

Of the three, I’d have to say that I liked Laurel & Hardy the best. I really didn’t care for the other two.

I think Abbott and costello.

I preferred Groucho and Harpo.
They were much funnier than the other pairs.
In fact I wonder what I found funny about the other pairs.
They must have appealed to my childish thoughts on humour.
