She is stated as having left right before shooting due to conflicts with the script. She didn’t like the direction it headed.
Personally, I think her absence really took away from the movie. The substitute just wasn’t Evie.

song choice for audition?
Is it better to chose a song that you are comfortable with or a song that could be very challenging and will be wonderful if you do it right but suck if you do it wrong?

I am auditioning for Brigadoon and
I am trying to chose from:
Funny Honey from chicago (my style but not really Brigadoon)

The worst Pies in London from Sweeney Todd (works with my voice and shows range)

By the Sea from Sweeney Todd(frigging hard song but I love it)

Wait From Sweeney Todd (quite simple, and more fitting with Brigadoon, also would have to work on showing the break in my voice too much)

While those Sweeney songs are wonderful, it’s very much frowned upon to sing a Sondheim song at any audition other than an audition for another Sondheim show, with the reasons being a) it’s incredibly difficult for the pianist - Sondheim’s accompaniments are horrendously hard to play, which won’t help you as if the pianist is struggling you’ll sound worse, and b) his style really is very distinct and there’s nothing like it in any other composers’ work - it won’t show the director/MD that you can sing in the style required for the show. So for that reason I’d discourage you from singing any of the songs you’ve listed - Funny Honey is again the wrong style. Brigadoon was written by Lerner and Loewe, the team who wrote My Fair Lady, Camelot and Gigi (a film not stage musical but wonderful nevertheless!). I’d try and find a song from one of those shows to use - just don’t sing "I Could Have Danced All Night" because it’s pretty overdone. "Wouldn’t It Be Loverly" could work for you.

I don’t know the first song, but I know all of the others because my school recently did Sweeney Todd. So. I’m guessing you are a soprano?

If this were my audition, I would choose The Worst Pies in London because it is quite fun.

Wait is kind of slow for an audition and you wouldn’t want to crack onstage!

By the Sea doesn’s show range quite as well as Worst Pies.

You have good instincts choosing Steven Sondheim’s music.

But don’t sing "The Worst Pies In London" as it requires very little real singing, using mostly what the Germans call "Sprechstimme" (speech-voice).

If you want to show off your acting ability, how about "Send In the Clowns" — obvious but still a good choice. Or "Why Can’t You Behave?" from Cole Porter’s hit show "Kiss Me Kate" (you can rent DVD and notice that Ann Miller’s voice is capable but not grand) — Or "Some People" from "Gypsy" (Sondheim’s lyrics)., which is another movie on DVD.

If you want to show off your singing range, I would suggest "Someone to Watch Over Me" by George and Ira Gershwin, or "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" (Jerome Kern, from the Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movie "Roberta" — again, DVD rentable), or "The Man That Got Away" from the 1954 movie version of A STAR IS BORN (ditto on the DVD). The last one is a bravura number sung intensely and very "torchy" by Judy Garland so don’t go there without some practice!

If you absolutely MUST have something more modern, consider "A New York State of Mind" by Billy Joel (should be downloadable).

I do think you should practice anything you choose before you audition. Being able to sight-read music is helpful but not critical.

Is it smart to claim 9 on W4 and then file as 1 when its tax time to get more money first?
Because I think of it this way. If I claim 1, then its like giving the government a free loan. If i claim 9, I can get a lot more money now, put it in a money market account or something and then just pay next april and maybe make couple hundreds in interest which I know is also taxable but it works right?

Do I see any legal backlash doing this?

In addition to having underpayment penalties, and the legality issue already mentioned, if the IRS sees that you have a pattern of under-withholding on your W2 wages, they can issue a "lock-in" letter to your employer. In this letter, they tell the employer how many allowances you are allowed to claim. You employer is to ignore any W4’s you submit to them. That’s not a situation I would want to be in.

Your tax bill at the end of the year will kill you.If you claim 9 now and 1 at the end of the year you will owe hundreds of dollars in taxes if not thousands. You wont earn enough intrest to cover it trust me.

So long as you are aware this is what you are doing, there is no problem with it. Many people don’t see things the same way, so kudos to you for seeing the reality of the situation.

The only problem with your scenario is that at the end of the day you need to ensure you are paying in enough that you don’t get hit with an "underpayment penalty". Usually, if you owe more than a grand, you are treading into the area that it will kick in. If you end up in a penatly situation, then this scenario might not be worth this added cost to you.

SO, I say 9 might not be the right way to go, but 2, 3 or even 4 may avoid the free-loan scenario while also avoiding the underpayment penalty.

The IRS has something called an "underpayment penalty" if you only pay taxes at the end. I’ve seen it quoted differently in different places, but I’ve heard it’s either $350 or $500. If you can make more than that in interest, net of taxes, I suppose it would be worth it.

Probably not smart, and actually not legal unless you have enough deductions for that to make you come out about even - did you notice the line about "under penalty of perjury" above your signature on the W-4?

And from a purely practical point of view, if you owe over $1000 when you file, you’ll pay penalties, which might end up eating up that interest you’d have gotten through the year.

lord of the rings the two towers level deeping wall?
im stuck on this level…im on the castle and i don’t know what too do…i Just keeping killing enemies and kicking down the latter which there are climbing unto the castle. BUT nothings happening? do i just keep on doing this or is there something else ya gotta do?

I haven’t played the game in a long time, but if i remember correctly, you just continue to kill the enemies and eventually you’ll beat the level.
